Job Description
This position supports the Health Information Management Department in it’s mission of providing and maintaining a health information system for the purpose of patient care, research, planning, and evaluation for both internal and external persons.
*Position requires the employee to obtain scanned medical records from the inpatient unit/departments using Solarity Scan. Backloading medical records by assemble, scan and index batches into the Document Capture System (DCS) and/or the Horizon Patient Folder (HPF) system in a timely and accurate manner according to policy and procedures.
*Position requires strong focus on quality & attention to detail.
*Performing daily tasks to ensure all health records are in compliance with Missouri and Kansas State law by ensuring complete medical records are obtained.
*Assisting in the releasing of patient health information and maintaining compliance according to policy.
*Ensuring late charge sheets are returned as necessary to assist in correct entry of charging.
*Performing routine chart processing activities, including searching, pulling and filing of medical records that are on microfilm for emergent patient care physician/hospital requests and responding to various requests via phone, fax, correspondence.
*Performing other related duties as required or assigned.

RHIT certification preferred
