We are seeking a Director of People Operations & Strategy, whose mission is to lead the cultivation, development, and advancement of Torch’s people and culture. You’ll advise Torch leadership in developing strategies and implementing initiatives for our short- and long-term people strategy, organizational development and change, communications, hire-to-retire processes—including recruitment, onboarding, talent management & development, compensation & benefits, and succession planning—and other strategic and operational initiatives.

You might spend one day providing strategic-backed data reporting to the CEO and another facilitating employee trainings, development, and performance management activities. The role will likely evolve over time as the business grows and you will have significant influence in its direction as well as in your own career.

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resource Management, Psychology, or other related field
5-7 years of collective experience in operations, HR strategy, and/or talent development
Broad HR knowledge spanning essential HR functions
Demonstrated experience leading and implementing strategic level HR and organizational-level initiatives
Ability to develop, present, and support compelling strategic plans to leadership
Thorough knowledge of HR and employment related laws and regulations, including but not limited to ACA, ESR, 1095-C, FMLA
High-degree of integrity and confidentiality and ability to build trust at all levels of the organization
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
Strong project management skills; ability to lead projects at a network level to influence and obtain buy-in, and drive execution and achievement of results
Passion for innovative HR/People solutions and process improvement
Strong organizational skills - ability to collaborate with Torch’s HR Coordinator to support ongoing execution of HR operations and associated processes without missing a beat
Prior experience leading, coaching, and mentoring direct reports
Experience with rapid and complex changing work environment
Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously, oriented on results
Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn Torch’s HR platform, ADP
High-level proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
